Sjóður is white and horned. The head is rather long and looks powerful. The neck is broad, shoulders rather coarse and the chest wide. Conformation is fair. The back is magnificantly strong and well muscled. Loins are long and muscular. Thighs are well muscled by thick and long muscle. Feets are straight and strong. Sjóður is exceptionally longbodied and vigorous sheep.
Wool
Little tan on head but no tan fibers in the fleece. Wool quantity just below average. Rather shortwoolled but the thog is fine and soft. No black fibers were found.
ResultsSjóður was progeny tested by SOUTHRAM at Háholt Farm in 2000 and result was following; 121 for meat quality, 106 for lambs or total of 114 points (average=100). Sjóður gives extraordinary leanness and in the progeny test average fat grading was 7,5 while Sjóðurs result was 5,8 (Lower fat grading = lesser fat = more leanness). Many of Sjóðurs progenies have proven to be a bit coarse on shoulders.
